The ocean sustains life and serves as a vital foundation for the planet’s sustainability. To restore marine ecosystems and support long-term fishery resources, Formosa 2 has been working for years with the Nanlong District Fishermen’s Association.
This October, we held a fingerling stocking event at Waipu Fishing Harbor, carefully timed with the high tide and conducted from the shore to ensure that the juvenile fish could swim freely in the most suitable conditions and thrive.

On the day of the event, Chairman Liu Tie-Lin, Executive Supervisor Yen Teng-Huang, Executive Director Yen De-Kun, and other members of the Nanlong District Fishermen’s Association, together with the Formosa 2 team and all students and faculty of Cheng-Gong Elementary School, witnessed the fingerling stocking, demonstrating the collective commitment of industry, community, and education to safeguarding the ocean.

A total of three native fish species were released: 20,000 black sea bream, 50,000 crimson sea bream, and 40,000 milkfish, totaling 110,000 juvenile fish. The release reflects the continuation of life and the promise of ecological restoration.
The activity was carried out in full compliance with the Restrictions and Compliance Requirements for the Release of Aquatic Animals into Marine Areas, ensuring adherence to ecological conservation principles and environmental ethics.
Formosa 2 remains committed to taking concrete actions to protect the ocean, working alongside local partners to restore coastal ecological balance and enhance fishery resources. Starting with every single juvenile fish, we hope to plant the seeds of sustainability that will grow strong within the marine ecosystem.
