In recent days, moderate typhoon Haikui made landfall in Taiwan for the first time in 4 years, bringing abundant moisture. The typhoon left a more significant impression compared to the previous typhoons that skirted the region. From September 1st to 4th, Formosa 2 Operation and Maintenance(O&M) team kept a vigilant watch, providing round-the-clock monitoring of the wind farm. O&M team also provided regular updates to the relevant government authorities, ensuring they had access to real-time information
The construction adhered strictly to the IEC61400 T-Class standards. Following the passage of Typhoon Haikui, Formosa 2 conducted a thorough inspection of the wind turbines and found no damage. The turbines successfully withstood gusts of up to 45 m/s.It's important to note that when wind speeds exceed 25 m/s, the wind turbine will be cut off automatically and halts operations. Formosa 2 maintained an excellent performance of power generation throughout the rest of the typhoon, achieving an impressive power generation efficiency.
