About Formosa 2
Formosa 2 is jointly developed by Stonepeak (51%) and JeraNex (49%), with a total installed capacity of 376 MW. All 47 wind turbines were installed by January 2023 and achieved full grid connection in March the same year. The project reached its Commercial Operation Date (COD) on September 8, 2023, officially entering the operations and maintenance (O&M) phase. Formosa 2 is expected to supply clean electricity to approximately 380,000 households annually.
Location
Formosa 2 is located between 4 – 10 km off the coast of Miaoli County in northwestern Taiwan, adjacent to Formosa 1.
Project Milestones
Formosa 2 was awarded its capacity in the selection by Bureau of Energy, Ministry of Economic Affairs, in 2018. Following the achievement of all foundation installation completion in 2022, all turbine installations were completed in January 2023, and all turbines have been connected to the grid since March 2023.
