Religion in Taiwan carries profound cultural significance and serves as an important force that strengthens local identity and social cohesion. Among the most iconic religious events in Taiwan is the Baishatun Mazu Pilgrimage. Following its first participation in 2025, Formosa 2 once again joined this year’s annual pilgrimage. By setting up a supply station along the pilgrimage route on the Provincial Highway 1 section in Qingshui, Formosa 2 accompanied more than 400,000 devotees on their nearly 400-kilometer journey on foot, providing timely support and blessings along the way. The initiative reflects a more community-centered approach for the company to engage with local culture and demonstrates its commitment to walking alongside the community through concrete action.

During the pilgrimage, Formosa 2 volunteers prepared supplies early in the morning. As the procession passed by, they personally handed out blessing kits to pilgrims on foot one by one. Each kit included practical items such as cooling wet wipes, handheld fans, and reusable bags, helping participants replenish essential needs and relieve fatigue during the long walk. The relief station remained busy throughout the event, with pilgrims briefly stopping to receive the supplies, nodding in appreciation, and exchanging words of blessing with volunteers—ensuring that the entire interaction preserves the warm sense of “connection” between people and a shared hope for “favorable weather and peace.”

As the pilgrimage continued to stream past, volunteers continuously distributed supplies —sometimes jogging toward the edge of the procession to reach participants, and at other times handing out kits during brief pauses in the crowd. The site became not only a supply point, but also a warm resting stop along the faith journey. Through this responsive, on-the-ground support, Formosa 2 accompanied the pilgrimage in a tangible way while bringing a more human and community-oriented presence into a religious and cultural setting.

By participating in the Baishatun Mazu Pilgrimage for the second consecutive year, Formosa 2 seeks to respond to local culture through action and further strengthen its connection with the community. Looking ahead, Formosa 2 will continue to engage in diverse local initiatives, deepening interaction and trust between the company and society, and extending the spirit of sustainability into everyday life contexts.
