In November, Formosa 2 partnered with Miaoli Ding-Pu Elementary School to host the Marine Sustainability Family Program, welcoming more than 60 students, teachers, and parents. Through engaging, hands-on activities, participants gained valuable insights into Taiwan’s fisheries, marine products, and the basics of wind power generation.

Teachers and students explored the wetland ecosystem together, experiencing the richness and vitality of nature

The program launched with a fun introduction to intertidal ecology, where children and parents explored common coastal species, their habitats, and local conservation efforts. Participants then journeyed to the Zhunan Zhonggang River Estuary Wetlands for a field exploration, observing native wildlife up close and discovering just how vibrant local biodiversity can be.

During the sharing session, families reflected on what they discovered—from the species they encountered to the impressions left by the natural environment—fostering both learning and parent-child connection.

Under the gentle sea breeze and amidst lively conversations, the program bridged the community closer to the ocean and offered meaningful insights into sustainability education.

By continuing to create opportunities for experiential learning, Formosa 2 hopes to inspire environmental awareness, nurture respect for ecological diversity, and encourage the next generation to contribute to a sustainable future.
